What is the difference between the Top 100 Guarantee and the Top 50 Track?

The Top 100 Guarantee ensures that eligible Amerigo Signature School students who meet all program requirements will receive admission to at least one university ranked in the Top 100 (U.S. News National Universities, U.S. News Liberal Arts Colleges, or QS Global Rankings as of their year of graduation).

The Top 50 Track is an advanced pathway for high-achieving students who aim to attend Top 50 universities. It offers enhanced academic planning and counseling but does not include a refund guarantee.

Who can participate in these programs?

Both programs are available exclusively to students enrolled from Grade 6 to 11 at Amerigo Signature Schools in the U.S. Students entering directly into Grade 12 or enrolled in short-term Exchange Programs are not eligible.

What are the entry and exit requirements for the Top 100 Guarantee?

Entry: Minimum of two consecutive academic years at the same Amerigo Signature School.

Exit:

  • Graduate from the same Amerigo Signature School with a U.S. high school diploma
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA across all four years
  • Completion of at least one higher-level course (AP/IB/Honors)
  • TOEFL 85+ or equivalent
  • Good attendance and behavior record
  • Completion of all application steps as advised by counselors

What are the entry and exit requirements for the Top 50 Track?

Eligibility depends on how long the student studies at Amerigo Signature Schools:

  • 2 years: GPA 3.8+, 2 HL/ACP courses, TOEFL 70+, no grades for F or D
  • 3 years: GPA 3.6+, TOEFL 55+, no grades for F or D
  • 4 years: No GPA requirement, TOEFL 40+, automatic enrollment in Top 50 Track

Exit:

  • Graduate from the same Amerigo Signature School with a U.S. high school diploma
  • 4.0 weighted GPA upon graduation
  • Completion of at least three higher-level courses (AP/IB/Honors)
  • TOEFL 95+ or equivalent
  • SAT 1450+ or equivalent
  • Participation and leadership in at least 2 meaningful activities
  • Good attendance and behavior record
  • No academic dishonesty
  • Completion of all application steps as advised by counselors

What happens if I meet all the Top 100 requirements but do not receive a Top 100 university offer?

Amerigo will refund up to $50,000 USD in tuition fees, according to the official Top 100 Guarantee Refund Policy. This refund only applies if all eligibility, conduct, and timing requirements are met.

What kind of support will I receive to reach my university goals?

Students at U.S.-based Signature schools receive continuous support through Amerigo’s on-campus International Student Department, including:

  • GPA management and academic advising
  • Advanced coursework and dual-credit planning
  • SAT/TOEFL/AP test prep guidance
  • University and scholarship guidance
  • Essay workshop & guidance
  • Recommendation letter facilitation
  • Extracurricular and leadership development
  • English Language Learning (ELL) courses designed for international students—students may also earn Foreign Language credits for graduation.
  • Monthly scorecard and parent communication

How is the “Top 100” or “Top 50” university ranking determined?

Amerigo uses the most current U.S. News & World Report (National Universities and Liberal Arts Colleges) and QS Top 100 Global University Rankings published in the student’s graduation year.

What happens if I transfer to another school before graduation?

The guarantee applies only if a student completes at least two consecutive years and graduates from the same Amerigo Signature High School. Transferring or leaving before graduation voids eligibility.

Does the guarantee apply to all types of university programs?

No. The guarantee applies only to standard undergraduate admissions. Programs that require auditions or portfolios (e.g., fine arts, design, or conservatory programs) are excluded.

Does the guarantee include a specific major choice?

No. The guarantee does not ensure admission into a specific major. It guarantees admission to the university only.

What kind of universities do Amerigo students get accepted to?

Over the past years, 100% of Amerigo graduates have been accepted to universities.

Specifically, for Amerigo Class of 2025*:

  • 97% were admitted to Top 100 universities
  • 60% were admitted to Top 50 universities
  • 25% received offers from Top 30 universities

*Out of those who applied.

Our students have gone on to study at institutions such as NYU, UC Berkeley, University of Southern California, Northeastern University, Duke University, and many more!

Is the Top 100 Guarantee available for Amerigo students in Canada or Select schools?

Only students enrolled as of Junior year at Fort Erie International Academy are eligible for the Top 100 Guarantee. Students in Select Programs or other Canadian campuses receive  high-quality support but are not part of the Guarantee policy.
