FAQ

The questions everyone asks first.

What Amerigo programs are available for international students?

Amerigo offers three pathways for international students: High School Diploma, where students study at fully accredited schools in the US, UK, or Canada and earn a diploma for university admission; High School Exchange, with the option to study for one semester or one academic year; and Study Online, offering flexible access to high school courses from anywhere.

What's the difference between the High School Diploma and Early College programs?

The High School Diploma Program spans 1–4 years and leads to a full, accredited diploma. Early College is a Grade 12 or post-graduate year that adds up to two years of transferable university credit, so students arrive at university already ahead — often entering as juniors.

Is university admission guaranteed?

Yes. Through the Amerigo Top 100 Guarantee, eligible students at U.S. Signature Schools who meet program requirements are guaranteed admission to a university ranked in the Top 100 (U.S. News or QS Global Rankings) — or receive a refund of up to $50,000.

Who is eligible for the Top 100 Guarantee, and what is the Top 50 Track?

The Guarantee is open to students who complete at least two consecutive years (Grades 6–11) at the same Amerigo Signature School and meet GPA, TOEFL, and coursework benchmarks. High-achieving students can also join the Top 50 Track, an advanced pathway with enhanced academic planning aimed at Top 50 universities (this track does not include a refund).

What happens if my child meets the requirements but doesn't get into a Top 100 school?

Amerigo refunds up to $50,000 in tuition, per our official Refund Policy, as long as all eligibility, conduct, and timing requirements were met.

What is the Early College Program, and how does it work?

Built on a partnership between Besant Hill School and Ventura College, this two-year program lets Grade 12 students combine high school coursework with college-level classes. Students earn up to 60 transferable college credits plus their high school diploma, then can transfer directly into the junior year at a University of California campus or another top university.

What credentials do Early College students earn?

Graduates leave with a U.S. high school diploma, a Ventura College Associate Diploma, and up to 60 transferable college credits — enough for direct entry into the junior year of a U.S. university.

What are the admission requirements?

We recommend a GPA of 3.0 or above and English proficiency equivalent to TOEFL iBT 80 (IELTS 5.5–6.0, Duolingo 110, or our internal placement test). Applicants below this benchmark may still qualify through an internal assessment and interview.

Do transfer applications require the SAT?

Generally, no. Most transfer applications skip SAT and other standardized test requirements, significantly easing test-prep pressure compared to traditional freshman admissions.

What support does my child get on campus?

Every student has access to a dedicated Amerigo International Department, university counseling, English and academic support, SAT/TOEFL/AP prep, essay and scholarship guidance, and the Amerigo 360° wellbeing and family-transparency system, including monthly progress updates for parents.

What kind of universities do Amerigo students get into?

100% of Amerigo graduates have been accepted to universities. For the Class of 2026, 99% were admitted to Top 100 schools, 71% to Top 50 schools, and 50% to Top 30 schools — including NYU, UC Berkeley, USC, Northeastern, and Duke
